Additional features
Lightweight construction
BMW’s intelligent Life-module is made entirely of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). Being thinner than hair and stronger than steel made it an obvious choice.
Led technology
BMW’s U shaped LED headlights and rear lights are designed for greater visibility. By measuring the available light while driving, they provide greater levels of safety and vision for the driver.
Intelligent driving
As part of BMW’s ConnectedDrive, the BMW i3 and BMW i3s come with Driver Assistance Systems such as Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function and Traffic Jam Assist, which help make journeys as seamless as possible.
Open up your journey
With stylish coach doors, which make getting in and out much easier, passengers can enjoy a more spacious and panoramic view.
Ready for adventure
The luggage compartment offers generous space and, with a loading sill only 3mm higher than the luggage compartment floor, easy loading and unloading of bulky items.
Modern operating concept
Keep in control with a modern instrument cluster on the 5.7″ TFT colour display. This is partnered by a 10.25″ infotainment screen, which has stylish BMW life tiles to match your preferences.
Extended storage
Beyond the large 260 litre rear space, the BMW i3 and BMW i3s have foldable backrests for increased storage. Set in a 50:50 ratio, they can be set to one of three positions to meet individual needs.
Dynamic power
BMW’s eDrive drivetrain ensures that full torque is not only available from a standing start, but also keeps coming without delay; unlike a traditional engine, which increases incrementally with the gears.
Natural materials
The use of Kenaf, which is harvested from malva plants and up to 30% lighter than conventional materials, replaces petroleum-based plastics in the BMW i3. Furthermore, the Eucalyptus wood used, which needs about 90% less surface processing than conventional wood, comes from sustainable plantations certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The leather of the BMW i3 is tanned with the natural extract of olive leaves in an environmentally friendly manner.
Recycling
The BMW i3 is up to 85% recyclable. In addition to this, approximately 27 used plastic bottles go into every car.
